Le fil conducteur de ce journal de broderie m’a été inspiré par les jolis mouchoirs brodés de Belle-maman, que j’ai trouvés bien rangés dans une vieille boîte en carton, après son décès.
The common denominator in this embroidery book was inspired by the wonderful embroidered handkerchiefs who use to belong to my mother-in-law. I did found them nicely packed in an old box, after her passing.

J’ai fait une impression sur tissu de mon premier vrai ouvrage en patchwork, tout monté et quilté main, je l’avais intitulé « le déserteur ».

Starting with this idea of a journal to remember her, I went back into times…. I was able to get my own school work, (page 1, 2 and 3).
How interesting it was to see what we were taught at school..I did a print on fabric of my very first patchwork, all made by hand, the quilting and the put up together. I had it call “the deserter”.

J’ai voulu ensuite m’essayer à la couture machine, plus rapide , et quel soulagement pour les mains !!!!
After that I wanted to try to do one with the machine, much faster rand what a relief for the hands !!!!
En 2002, Smaranda est venue exposer à l’ Ile Rousse avec Jean-Marie. Découvrir le crazy patchwork, la broderie, l’embellissement a été un véritable régal.
