How to make a (crocheted) lace with your hands by Smaranda Bourgery

Pour apprendre facilement utiliser deux fils épais (cordelettes)

To learn easier, use two tick tread (thin rope)

Pour commencer faire un noeud

To start make a knot

Tirer et serrer le noeud

Pull and tighten the knot

Tenir le noeud du début et le fil jaune avec la main gauche

(tenir le fil jaune avec l'index de la main gauche)

Keeping the starting knot and the yellow thread in your left hand
(keep the yellow thread around the forefinger of your left hand)

Attraper le fil vert avec la main droite

Get the green thread with your right hand

Tenir toujours le fil vert et attraper ce fil avec le dos de l'index droit

en le faisant passer à l'intérieur du fil jaune

(regarder attentivement la photo pour voir le geste)

Keeping the green thread in your hand get that same thread with the back of your right forefinger
going through the yellow thread

Tirer le fil vert

Pull the green thread

Tenir maintenant à la base le noeud du début et le fil vert

(avec la main droite) et tirer le fil jaune

Now change the 1st knot and the green thread in your right hand
pull the yellow thread with the left hand

Lâcher le fil jaune

Let the yellow thread go

Tenir toujours le fil vert sur l'index droit et attraper ce fil jaune avec le dos de l'index gauche en le faisant passer à l'intérieur du fil vert (regarder attentivement la photo pour voir le geste)

With the green thread still on your right forefinger get the yellow thread with the back of your left forefinger
going inside the green thread (look carefully at the picture to see how to)

Le fil jaune toujours sur l'index gauche et le fil vert sur l'index droit

Whit the yellow thread still on your left forefinger and the green one on your right forefinger

Lâcher et tirer le fil vert

Ket the green thread go and pull it

Continuer comme expliqué ci-dessus, en attrapant le fil vert

Keep going like that, catching the green thread
(see the pictures for each step)

En suite en attrapant le fil jaune, etc ...

Then do the same with the yellow thread, etc…

Continuez, pour obtenir la longueur de lacet voulue

Keep going until you have the right length

Pour terminer tirer le fil vert

To finish it off, pull the green thread through the yellow loop

Tirer le fil jaune

Pull the yellow thread

Faire un noeud au bout.

Make a know at the end.

Vous pouvez utiliser cette technique pour faire des attaches de lunettes, pour vos clefs, des colliers.

Vous pouvez également utiliser le lacet en "couchure" dans l'art textile.

You can use this technic to make a cord for your glasses, for your keys, as a necklace, etc…
You can use this lace as a “couchure” in the textile art as well.
